“Money, money, money. Must be funny. In the rich man’s world.” What do we all work for? Money, right? To some extent, for sure! The key to this song is honing in on your motivation. “All the things I could do if I had a little money.” What are those things? What do you want to use and spend your money on? Home improvements? A new car? A family vacation? Define those things and create a visual target or vision board that you will see every day. Know exactly what you want to make, and sometimes more importantly WHY.
Where's your motivation? What lights your fire?

“I’ve got the brains, you’ve got the looks. Let’s make lots of money.” To me this song really speaks to using your resources. Who and what do you have around you to help make your ideas bigger and stronger? What could you tap into to make you feel more informed? What areas do you need to improve in or what areas do you find you are lacking skills or knowledge? How can you close that gap? Using your resources helps to ensure you are maximizing each opportunity to the fullest extent. “Oh there’s a lot of opportunities if you know when to take them.”
Are you using your resources?

Ah! The best karaoke ever, right? This song is about a relationship gone bad, and the ultimate powerful feeling once that relationship is in the past. “Now you see me—somebody new, I’m not that chained up little person still in love with you.” This could be about focusing on your ideal customer profile—and not spending time with the wrong accounts or with people who don’t have money to spend. Think about the clients you are spending the majority of your time with, are they the clients giving you the biggest return on your investment of time? It could also be about coming to that point where you need to “fire” a client who is taking up all of your time and not giving you anything but anguish in return. It is about, “Saving all my loving for someone who’s loving me.”

“Did I disappoint you? Did I ask too much? Not enough?” If you have to ask these types of questions then you are not managing expectations very well! This is about customer focus and paying attention to your clients’ needs, wants and desires. What are they expecting? What do they want the outcome to be? How would they define a successful partnership? How do they like their account to be serviced? How often do they want to see you? Ask these questions early in the relationships because, “It’s too late, tonight, to drag the past out into the light.”

This song is all about putting your biggest, baddest, best self out there — even when you are terrified of the rejection that is certainly heading your way. It is about your ONE SHOT, about being a serious risk-taker, and overcoming your fears of failure. It takes a lot for a poor, white rapper to walk into an inner-city Detroit club and rap, and at first, he is an epic fail, “He opens his mouth but the words won’t come out he choking now—times up over out.” But he stays persistent and he doesn’t give up. “He won’t give up that easy, no he won’t have it.” When he ultimately captures his moment, he is a huge success. What is the biggest thing you could go after right now? What is holding you back? This song is for reminding you when you need to GO FOR IT.
